Monday, Monday, Meandering Monday

I don't know who the P.R. person for Monday is, but clearly, he or she is not doing their job well. There was a time when people at least looked forward to Monday nights for football games, but even that is not a reason for many people to care about it. Think about the litany of songs: "I don't like Mondays", "Just a manic Monday", "Blue Monday", "Monday I've got Friday on my mind", etc. tell me that Monday has always been the low day on the daily totem pole. The way I see it, Monday has always taken one for the team.

Think of it, what day would ever benefit from being the first in the week? Do you think Taco Tuesday would work if it was the equivalent of Taco Monday? What about "hump day" Wednesday. You can't exactly be the hump if you are at the start of the workweek, now can you? And while Thursday is largely known for early bar crawling among the young, at least it is seen as a fun day. And, do we really need to discuss Friday, Saturday, and Sunday? They are like the three amigos, inseparable and over-rated. But put any one of them at the beginning of the week, they all become as popular as Chevy Chase today.

I think there is a chance that Monday could be redeemed--perhaps one of those makeover shows could help in this regard. I feel certain the Queer Eye guys could take Monday in hand and make it fabulous. Queer Eye guys, what do you think? What's that?

"It is a hard pass."

Et tu, Queer Eye guys?

Okay, so let me try. From now on Monday will be referred to as Marvel Monday--where a new Marvel film will be released on Disney+! Marvel Monday: Not "super"-fluous. How ya like me now?

What? Too much testosterone--ya, you're right.

Okay, Makeover Monday--when everybody can get a free makeover from the Queer Eye guys! Makeover Monday: You doing you, but better. How ya like me now?

What, too fabulous? Hmmm...

Okay, Muffin Monday--when everybody can get a free muffin at that one place in the mall that still sells them! Muffin Monday: Taking a bit out of Monday! How ya like me now?

What, too late eighties/early nineties?

Fine, you've shot down my best ideas. Mondays suck!
